The total length of Donghuayuan tunnel is 4,970 meters. It is located in the geological area prone to settling. The maximum excavation depth is 22 meters. The tunnel is about 1.7 km from the Guanting reservoir. The tunnel body is 3-5 meters below the water level line. The maximum head difference between the reservoir surface and the bottom of the foundation pit is 11 meters. It has the characteristics of a large excavation, deep foundation pit and strong rich water. The waterproof construction technology is very difficult. At the same time, because of its special construction significance, the quality requirement is very high.
The inverted arch utilized the pre-sprayed and reverse bonded construction technology of Tuling® liquid rubber, and the arch wall and vault utilized the direct spraying technology to realize fully covered waterproof effect.
